This Policy will cover loss or damage to the insured property that is caused by:

        • Accidental fire.
        • An explosion.
        • Riots, strikes or other malicious damage provided that the Insured does not participate in the event.
        • Lightning.
        • Political risks or terrorism provided that the Insured does not participate in the event.
        • Burglary/ theft that causes visible damage to the Insuredís premises. However, the policy does not cover theft by employees.
        • Armed robbery provided it is not committed by an employee of the insured.

Terms of the Cover (Specific to all Risks)*

        • Excess Fire: No Excess
        • Burglary: In the event of theft/ burglary, the Insured is responsible for the first10% (minimum KES 5,000) of each admissible claim
        • The Insured must take all reasonable precautions to ensure the property is safe from loss or damage. If the property is damaged, the Insured must take the necessary steps to ensure that no further damage occurs.
        • This policy covers theft of goods in the open during business hours only. The Insured must keep a set of invoices and receipts for all stock bought and sold. When the shop is not open for business, these records must be stored inside a fire-proof safe or drawer or locked in another building.
        • The Insured cannot store more than 100 liters of flammable liquid (e.g. paraffin, kerosene, petrol, etc.) on the premises where the stock is sold or stored.
        • A small quantity of hazardous goods may be stored, However, the value of these hazardous goods may not be more than 5% of the total insured.
        • The premises containing the insured property must be guarded by a watchman (communal or individual) when the business is closed or unoccupied.
        • The cover provided under this policy has been extended to cover loss or damage that is as a result of political events or terrorism
        • This policy will be effective when full annual premium is received by the insurance company.
        • This policy does not cover the breakdown or malfunction of any electrical equipment.
        • The company will not pay for any loss arising from the use of a duplicate key unless the key was obtained by the use of force.

A small quantity of hazardous goods may be stored by the Insured. However, the value of these hazardous goods may not be more than 5% of the total insured.
